Our Dog Obedience Training
At K9 Unlimited, you can rest assured you’re getting high-quality training grounded in proven methods. Our founder, Scott Tarpley, is a graduate of the Tom Rose School for dog training outside St. Louis, and he has trained fellow pet dog instructor Andrew Northup in this skill set as well. Together, Scott and Andrew have helped dozens of owners and families build calmer, more responsive dogs.
K9 Unlimited offers step-by-step obedience programs tailored to your dog’s age, temperament, and goals.

General Obedience Training
Our obedience course covers the essentials every dog needs: leash manners, name recognition, sit, down, stay, place, and a dependable recall, even around distractions. We layer clear communication with structured practice so your dog learns to respond the first time, not the fifth. You’ll be set up for success as well with simple at-home routines, milestone checklists, and trainer feedback to make progress steady and stress-free.
Dog/Other Animal Training
If your dog pulls toward other dogs, fixates on wildlife, or struggles to ignore neighborhood pets, our obedience course builds neutrality and focus. We combine controlled setups, distance work, and pattern games to replace sudden reactivity with calm engagement. You’ll learn how to read your dog’s thresholds, create space when needed, and reward the right choices until polite behavior becomes the default.

Public/Guest Manners
From front-door chaos to patio dining, this track turns good obedience into great manners. We practice polite greetings, place while guests arrive, settling under a table, and walking through busy spaces without pulling or barking. The goal: a dog that can relax around company, ride along for errands, and be welcome wherever other well-behaved dogs can go.
Not sure where to start? We’ll help you build the right dog obedience course for your goals.
